We are proud to announce our new partnership with the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation, becoming the Principal Partner for Women & Girls Rugby League as part of a multi-year commitment to supporting female sport and community wellbeing across the Wakefield District.
As a local healthcare provider operating hubs in Wakefield city centre, Normanton and Pontefract, we are deeply committed to strengthening the health, confidence and wellbeing of our community. Supporting the Foundation’s Women & Girls Pathway aligns perfectly with our purpose—helping local people to stay active, connected and able to participate in positive, life-enhancing opportunities.
This partnership will empower the Foundation to continue expanding its Female Player Pathway, which offers girls of all ages the chance to engage with Rugby League at every stage of their development—from early introduction through RugBees and community outreach, to secondary school Rugby League, the ASUS Emerging Player Pathway and the Girls Development Academy.
As part of our commitment, Novus Health will support:
- The distribution of equipment such as branded balls and bibs across Partner Secondary Schools, helping to create a lasting legacy of Rugby League within the district.
- The strengthening and enhancement of the ASUS Emerging Player Pathway (EPP) by providing specialist physiotherapists, rehab instructors and health coaches at training sessions, festivals and internal fixtures.
- Wider participation in secondary schools, helping girls in Years 7–11 access structured sport, develop confidence, and pursue pathways into community clubs.

Luke Streeting, Chief Executive, said:
“We are incredibly proud to support the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation as the Principal Partner of Women & Girls Rugby League. As a healthcare provider rooted in Wakefield, it is extremely important to us that we invest back into our community and support opportunities that improve the health, wellbeing and confidence of young people.
Through this partnership, we are excited to help Jacob and his team deliver the sport to secondary schools, providing equipment and resources to make this possible, and to support the professional development of players through the EPP programme. This collaboration reflects our long-term commitment to growing female sport and inspiring the next generation of players in our region.”
This partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to promote health, movement and community engagement across Wakefield.
We look forward to working closely with the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation over the coming years and supporting the continued growth of Women & Girls Rugby League.
