This month, we celebrate a significant milestone: our Novus Pontefract Health & Wellbeing Hub has officially been open for one year!
When the hub first opened its doors, it was opened by the Mayor of Wakefield, Cllr Josie Pritchard, who praised its role in providing convenient and accessible healthcare services for Pontefract residents. Over the past year, the hub has gone above and beyond, becoming a vital resource for the local community.
A Year of Making a Difference
Since opening, the Pontefract Hub has welcomed 1,835 patients through its doors, offering fundamental NHS services with convenience and care. Here’s what we’ve accomplished in just one year:
- Physiotherapy: Supporting 1,104 patients with tailored treatment plans and rehabilitation.
- Adult Hearing Loss: Helping 513 patients improve their hearing and quality of life.
- Minor Hand Surgery: Delivering expert care to 75 patients with precision and professionalism.
- Dermatology: Helping 152 patients address skin health concerns.
- Administrative Support: Assisting 118 individuals with their healthcare needs.

The hub was established to bridge a gap in local healthcare provision, ensuring that the residents of Pontefract and surrounding areas have access to high-quality NHS services right on their doorstep.
Our facility features a rehabilitation gym, dermatology suites and multi-purpose consultation spaces that allow us to provide a wide range of healthcare services in a single, convenient location. Located in the heart of Pontefract at 25 Market Place, the hub is easily accessible by public transport, making healthcare more convenient than ever.
