Why is employee wellbeing important?

In today’s fast-paced work environments, ensuring the wellbeing of employees is paramount, both for their personal satisfaction and overall business productivity.
At Novus Health, we recognise the vital role our staff play in creating a positive work environment. It’s clear, isn’t it? Happy team members are more engaged and productive, contributing to a thriving workplace. On the other hand, when morale is low, it impacts the atmosphere and customer experiences. That’s why we prioritise the happiness and wellbeing of our staff – because when they’re content, our entire environment flourishes. It’s a no-brainer.

Supporting staff wellbeing: Novus Health’s Employee Assistance Programme

Novus Health recognises the need to provide additional support to our staff, similar to many other employers in Wakefield and across the nation. We achieve this through our comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

What is an Employee Assistance Programme?

An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is a vital employee benefit initiative offered by many forward-thinking employers. Its primary aim is to provide support for employees facing personal challenges that may affect their performance, health, and overall wellbeing in the workplace. EAPs typically encompass a range of services such as assessment, short term counselling and referral services, extending not only to employees but also to their immediate families, regardless of their location in the world.

Employee benefits available to staff

Through partnership with Health Assured, the Employee Assistance Programme offers a wide array of services and benefits to staff, including:

Employee counselling: Employees have access to short term goal-oriented counselling provided by qualified professionals. These counsellors are adept at resolving workplace issues efficiently and effectively, employing various therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Critical incident management: Life throws many twists and turns our way. In the event of a crisis, such as a workplace incident or trauma, Health Assured ensures rapid response with trauma counsellors or counselling teams within 24 to 48 working hours.

Relationship management: Every relationship has its ups and down and as they say, it’s healthy to have your disagreements. However, sometimes relationships break down and we need some guidance from time to time. At Health Assured there are dedicated relationship managers who are a key point of contact. This personalised approach ensures that queries are addressed promptly and effectively.

Additional support services: Beyond counselling, employees benefit from a range of supplementary services, including a 24/7 counselling, legal and information line, access to an online health portal and the Wisdom App, as well as support guides for managers.
