Enhancing Your Hearing Journey: Our Comprehensive Aftercare Service

Navigating Changes in Hearing and Brain Adaption

As our hearing changes the brain tries to adapt and change to maximise the information it can access from the reduced input coming from our ears. There comes a point where this adaptation is no longer sufficient to compensate for the reduction in clarity and the assistance of an instrument is needed. Some of the adaptations we undergo can be beneficial for overall understanding with or without hearing aids. We become more visual and skilled at lip-reading to some degree.

Unfortunately, some of the changes that take place in the brain can make it a little harder to adapt to hearing instruments whether they are your first or simply a new set.

Your Hearing Journey Beyond Initial Fitting

So, you have hearing aids fitted and worried about what’s next?
You don’t need to worry; your hearing journey extends far beyond the initial fitting of hearing aids. That’s why we’re committed to providing exceptional follow-up and ongoing care to ensure that your hearing needs are not only met but exceeded Getting used to any hearing instrument can take some considerable time. It is important to remember that we hear not with our ears but with our brain.

Service Initiated Follow Up for Continued support.

After your initial fitting, our dedication to your wellbeing continues. We understand that adjusting to new hearing aids can be a journey, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. That’s why we prioritise service-initiated follow-ups to monitor your progress, address any concerns and fine tune your hearing aids or care plan as needed. Approximately 10 weeks after your fitting, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment to evaluate the comfort and performance of your hearing aids.

During the initial adjustment period, it is common to feel like the sounds are too loud or distracting. We want to reassure you that this is a normal part of the process. Your brain needs time to adapt to the new sounds and it typically takes up to three months for them to become less noticeable. That’s why we encourage you to attend the follow-up appointment where we can ensure that your hearing aids are set at the correct levels according to your unique hearing loss. Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities and we’re here to help you navigate this transition period with ease.

Regular Reviews and Remote Support

In addition to the initial follow-up appointment, we also conduct regular reviews to assess your hearing health and address any changes or concerns that may arise. These reviews are an essential part of our service, allowing us to track your hearing journey and make proactive adjustments to ensure that your hearing needs are consistently met Our aftercare service is not limited to in-person appointments. We understand that some individuals may face challenges leaving their homes, which is why we provide remote support through our BeMore app. Compatible with both Apple and Android devices, the BeMore app allows you to pair your hearing aids for enhanced control and accessibility. With features like a sound enhancer, tinnitus manager and assistance request, you can tailor your hearing experience to your preferences.
