In early May, we opened our purpose designed, city centre ‘High Street’ health and wellbeing hub.
It has long been our vision to invest in infrastructure projects that enable the de-medicalisation of healthcare provision and provide accessible facilities for the benefit of patients and communities in Wakefield.
The Hub contains three general consultation rooms, a dedicated Adult Hearing Health suite and a bespoke MSK rehabilitation suite and gym.
Designed to fit within the 2,600 sq ft former Co-Op Bank building on Providence Street in Wakefield the facility has enabled the redesign of clinical pathways within our MSK Physiotherapy Service – a service which provides an innovative, holistic approach to helping patient to improve there MSK health – and enables patients to access services through pre-booked appointments 6 days per week from 8am to 8pm.
Additionally, we have employed local people to work within the hub, creating 4 new roles, and encouraged 100s of people to visit the High Street every week – we hope this will support local businesses and help reinvigorate the city centre.
